47 Tucanae is the second best Globular Cluster in the sky. It is visible when the Southern Cross is at its lowest in the sky.

This cluster has around 10 000 stars and is located on the edge of our galaxy, 16 000 light years away!

 

 
 

Omega Centauri

The best Globular Cluster is Omega Centauri, which is found near the Southern Cross.

Omega Centauri has around 1000 000 stars and is 17 000 light years away.

That means it's light left about 11 000 years before the pyramids were built!!
